My Most Unexpected Business School Experience - Drew
/One of the big selling points of business school is the opportunity to enjoy new experiences and take part in adventures. Examples include glacier hiking in Patagonia, extended immersion trips in foreign land, or even listening to important guest speakers as they attempt to influence tomorrow’s leaders. Despite how well publicized these opportunities are to applicants, I’d wager that 9 out of 10 MBA have an experience that they never imagined they would going in.
What was mine? I had a lot of incredible experiences in business school, I hiked the Inca Trail, I did taxes for the underprivileged in West Philly, but if you had told me I’d be singing a cover of The Black Eyed Peas at a cabaret in Singapore I would have looked at you funny. But in the summer of 2005 that’s exactly what I did thanks to INSEAD and a really great exchange program with Wharton. Business school is a treasure trove of opportunities, but there is a method to the madness: The best students will use it as an opportunity to expand their boundaries, and use All of their experiences to aid personal and professional growth.
